About Me

I am the owner of No Deletes Coaching. My mission is to give everyone, regardless of their current situation, a personalized game plan based on timeless biblical principles.   My goal is to help people reach their financial goals, so they can do what God has created them to do.

A Few Fun Facts

I love helping people I served in local church ministry for over ten years, leading youth, children, and adults helping them grow in all areas of life. I have served a University Financial Wellness Coordinator for more than two years. I was conducting over 100 presentations and financial wellness appointments per semester. Currently, I work with 200+ college students advising them on the best courses to take to reach their academic goals at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. One of my greatest passions is seeing people develop financial habits that provide them with a lifetime of financial freedom.

I am a Family Man I love my wife, who is way out of my league, but don’t tell her that. We work together to have a great marriage. I have two amazing daughters who make me laugh and smile every day. I love them and the joy of life they bring to the world around them.

Personal Financial Background It seems almost everyone has a defining moment, a situation in time where they are never going back to how things were. That happened for me back in 2002. I had built up a little bit of debt using credit cards and taking out student and car loans. I even did some 90 days same as cash stuff. Thought living in debt was the American way of life. Keeping the FICO score up until one day, I saw a sign for Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover Simulcast Event. I signed up and attended. It was a life-changing day of hearing Dave teach Biblical principles about life and money. Once, I listened to the simulcast, my fiancé (now my wife of 15+ years), and I committed to change our money habits forever!

We were off to a great start. We planned a beautiful debt-free wedding. We were just a few months shy of tying the knot when our commitment to living debt-free was greatly shaken. Labor Day weekend 2002, I got hit by a drunk driver. This accident left me in no physical harm (though it did cause me to realize that maybe I watch too many action movies because I started walking away from my car knowing that it would blow up at any minute). The car was completely totaled, but it never blew up. All of this led to the last time I would borrow money to buy ANYTHING except our house. We had not yet built up an emergency fund and still, at the time, had debt.   I did not have money to pay cash for a car after the accident, so I would set up my last payment plan outside of our home mortgage to get a new car.   It was a defining moment that my wife and I have never looked back from in our lives together.

What we have been able to accomplish since then:

  • Paid cash or our last six cars
  • We lived in a small duplex for two years to make a down payment on our house of 33.33%. We did not have to pay PMI on our house because of our down payment. We put over 50% when we bought our new home.
  • We did not use or own a credit card for over ten years.
  • We have a six-month emergency fund
  • My wife stayed home with our girls before they started school, and she can be with them every day after school.
  • Walked through two job transitions
  • Created a monthly budget for the last two years
  • Put 15% of what we make into retirement
  • Give 10% to our local church and give to charities beyond that.
  • Save up for countless vacations and family day trips.

It has been genuinely life-changing to live on less than what we make and be able to have the confidence that money is not an area we need to stress about in our lives and marriage. The best way for us to grow in this area is by sharing with you and others what we have learned.
